The standard this site is held to

Clay is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, and this site follows the SPJ Code of Ethics as a working standard: seek the truth and report it, minimize harm, act independently, and be accountable.

How facts are checked

  • Game recaps: scores, dates, and statistics are taken from official athletics sources, such as the team’s own site, the SEC, or the NCAA, and are not guessed.
  • Housing: addresses, contact details, and pricing context are checked against the property’s own materials or public records where they exist, and a price is described as a snapshot with a date, because rents change.
  • Claims we cannot confirm are left out instead of being stated as fact.
  • Articles carry a date so readers can judge how current they are.

Where AI is used

Technology, including AI tools, is used to help research, organize, and draft articles under rules Clay sets. It is not a substitute for checking facts against a source, and AI is never cited as the source of a fact. Not every article, especially routine recaps, is read line by line by a person before it is published, which is why the corrections process below matters.

Advertising and sponsored content

Paid placements are kept separate from editorial coverage and are labeled. A property that advertises or sponsors content gets no say in how it is covered, and advertising does not buy a favorable review. See Advertise With Us.

Independence and trademarks

This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for the University of Alabama or its athletic department. University names are used only to describe the subject of the coverage.

Corrections

If something is wrong, email cl**@************eo.com with the article and the specific claim. Factual errors are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and a significant correction is noted on the article. Typos and broken links are fixed without a note. A fair disagreement about interpretation is not an error, but the article is updated when a reader makes a good case.

Updates

The updated date on an article changes only when its content actually changes or its facts are rechecked.
