Alabama swept the 2026 SEC Cross Country Championships on Friday, Oct. 30, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri. The men won with 37 points and the women won with 48. Caren Kiplagat won the women’s 6K individual title in 18:46.5.

How did Alabama sweep the SEC titles?
Depth up front. The men put three runners in the top four of the 8K: Dismus Lokira (2nd, 22:09.0), Rodgers Minatum (3rd, 22:11.5) and Dennis Kipruto (4th, 22:16.3). Duncan Gituku (13th) and Bismack Kipchirchir (15th) closed out the scoring. Alabama’s 37 points beat runner-up Arkansas (76) by 39. Florida’s Kelvin Cheruiyot won the men’s race in 22:03.1.
On the women’s side, Kiplagat edged Arkansas’ Isca Chelangat (18:47.9) by 1.4 seconds for the individual win. Cynthia Jemutai (8th), Brenda Tuwei (10th), Mildred Rono (11th) and Milicent Wafula (18th) gave Alabama five runners in the top 18. The Tide’s 48 points beat Florida (80) by 32.
